Porirua East Taiao Festival

Here is where we will be and when! Come along and join us at any or all of these awesome spots throughout the Eastern Porirua parks and reserves and see what we are getting up to!

9am - 11am at Cannons Creek Lake Reserve

Join Ngahere Korowai Collective: Aotearoa Pasifika Men’s Group members at Cannons Creek Lake Reserve - a previous planting site and regular monitoring zone. Kawhe and kōrero with the men behind the mahi as we make a start to the weekend near the top of the catchment.

12pm - 2pm at Bothamley Park Blackberry Patch

Bring a picnic and/or an appetite and practise your sour faces as we harvest blackberries with the locals and learn from our friends at Conservation Volunteers NZ about pest plants and animals through games and workshops.

2pm - 4pm at Bothamley Park Champion Street entrance

Fancy testing the waters of water testing? Well, now you can! Join our Wai Connection team stream-side and do some real-time citizen science. Gumboots recommended if you’d like to assist in collecting samples otherwise cheer the team on and help analyse the results on dry land.
