Raranga x Rimurimu is a photography exhibition showcasing research led by Māia-te-oho Holman-Wharehoka on behalf of Taranaki Whānui as part of the Love Rimurimu project. This research investigates the way that natural fibres traditionally and historically used by Māori can be used in the restoration of rimu kakauroa/ giant kelp. Māia's photographs show these fibres in the form of ropes, used as a substrate to grow rimu kakauroa with microscopic gametophytes and sporophytes attached.
