Mountains to Sea – Chair
Ali loves all things water. She always wanted to be a marine biologist but instead ended up working overseas as a war crimes investigator.
Nowadays, her mahi is increasingly examining the intersections between climate crime and indigenous solutions, which means more time at her rohe in South Taranaki, fighting for climate justice with her iwi Ngāruahine, Ngāti Ruanui and Taranaki Whānui.
If there’s swell from the South and wind from the North, you’ll spot her on Lyall Bay surfing with her dog Kurī. Ali’s dream is to complete an ocean crossing to Tahiti.
